Coen had to point out the zit on my face the other day. "Mommy- you have owie." I asked him if he could make it better. He thought very carefully and then said "I not magic."
He also called Samson (Marika's current dog she is training) "a character, he a pickle."
And he too now refers to Grandma Conley as the little Grandma.
And a little about Beckett too so he won't feel like a neglected second child- he is walking more and more. His first real walk for mom (he has been walking for others for a few weeks, but refused to for his mom) was in the middle of a conniption fit and he stamped his way to me- screaming at the top of his lungs in crazy anger. But he is taking more and more steps. It is fun. He is also a little mommy crazy right now. Which is okay- but a little exhausting having this little guy following me around all day crying to be held. Is there any phase that isn't going to involve crying all day for this kid?
Also tonight in his prayers Coen thanked Heavenly Father for Dade (Dave), Charlie, and Aislyn. He is going to be upset when he realizes they went back to Texas today.

More time with cousins
Here are some cute pictures of sprinkler play with cousins.
There is no explaining this outfit. He loved last summer he loves it this summer. Maybe it will disapear before next summer.

Spent the day with the cousins in the sprinklers-lots of fun.
Took a short enough nap I don't feel totally wasted.
Went to the grocry store alone-oh what sweet bliss.
Jogged a pathetic little jog.
Laundry, dishes, but the house is clean! (the only time Alma helps around the house is when guests are coming over. I invite people over wuite regularly.)
So not a bad day. Lots of kisses and cuddles with the boys and 3 count them three baths due to the filthiness of little boys. Still a lot to do tonight but off to cuddle my main man right now.

I may be getting a little addicted to wii fitness, Running with the Alma's wii mii ogling me, getting a little freaked out by TJ's freak creation ogling me, becoming obsessed with my center of gravity (apparently the keystone to all fitness- maybe a strange Japanese thing).
Also I have discovered I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut when it comes to vaccines. It is hard to do that when you have seen kids die of completely preventable diseases and I am supposed to be sympathetic to the mom with no education except for random web sites and Jenny McCarthy on Oprah! I think the problem is we take our good health for granted. No one remembers when children and babies dieing was a common occurrence. But let me remind you- babies died all the time- and they don't now. Why? Mostly because of vaccines. Read some pioneer journals written by mother's during a diphtheria outbreak, it is just heart breaking. But we take all this for granted, and assume that everyone else will get vaccinated to protect our children for us. Ugh. I need to stop. I wasn't planning on going off on this but I just feel so passionately. If only I could take you to the hospital room with me and have you see an innocent little child die of something so easily prevented.

Fun in the Sun with Cousins
The whole crowd- I just love Annie's little personality.
Aislyn enjoying a classic childhood pastime.

The boys- Coen and Dade love playing and they just loved playing with the big boys.
I am so greatful that the little boys have such fun with the big boys. I love how sweet Grant and David are with the boys. They genuinely love the little guys and it shows. I don't mind the hero worship when their heros are such great kids.

IT was Laura's birthday celebration tonight. She is one of the best sister-in-laws and the best aunt in the world. She loves babies and toddlers. If they don't love her back she just keeps bribing them until they do. I love her. I admire her. How can I not love a feisty mouthy woman? She hates pictures of herself- so here she is holding Beckett at Jackson Hole last year and an over exposed picture of her holding Aislyn on the same trip. Did I mention she loves babies? Love you Laura. Happy Birthday.
So I am having the worst call night EVER. The only consolation is that I did get to do wii fitness for and hour. But literally have been on the phone 6 times about a prescription for DIAPER RASH CREAM. More proof that the stupidest people in the world work in pharmacies (sorry to my pharmacist friends I don't mean you obviously). Also a mom I have talked to every single night I have been on call for the last two weeks called, again. And just let me say if the doctor on call tells you to head to the ER immediately don't spend fifteen minutes trying to talk her out of it. I just needed to vent a little tonight.
Just a little update- the parents with the kid with the head injury that I told to go to the ER RIGHT NOW and hour ago just called again to see if they really had to go to. I officially revoke their parental licence.

Are you all sick of Coen stories? I have some great pics trapped on picnic, my account is having issues. So as soon as those get free I will have some fabulous pics. And tomorrow Malinda and Susan get here- so I am sure there will be tons of cute cousin pictures. How about this cutie from 4th of July?
And here is one I have helped escape from the clutches of Picnic (don't get me wrong I love it, it is just having problems with my account).
This summer is great, lots of swimming, lots of popsicles, cool weather until this week, lots of NCAA football- on the XBox on Cougarfan, we are gearing up for the year. (Now whenever Alma plays he plays as Coen as the quarterback and Coen takes his wins quite personally.)
Last night 11pm both boys are making noise I have been ignoring it for a while but deside to go check on them. Every stich of clothing in the room is on the floor (which is about everthung sixe 6mon-4t because I have been trying to organize hand me downs from others and ours to others- this is a lot of clothes for example we have currently 22 pairs of 12 month pants!) Beckett is jumping up and down in his crib and Coen is pretending to climb the wall ala Spiderman. I explained that Spiderman has to go to sleep or he won't have any spidy powers in the morning, tucked them in and kissed them good night. As I walked down the hall Coen was wailing, "I not Spiderman, I Coen Dean Clove. I not Spiderman!"

Coen is full of cuteness this week- and an obsession with boobs which he calls booboos. I don't know why. This morning he told me he wanted a little squeeze and then a big squeeze and then a little squeeze. He then pinched his nipples and told me look mom I have teeny tiny boo boos. He was then very disappointed to learn that he would never make milk but at the same time disgusted at the thought that he once drank my milk. "I not do that mommy, I never do that." said with complete revulsion dripping in his voice.

Yesterday Coen cuddled up with me on the couch. He told me he wanted to play the cuddle game. I asked him how do you play the cuddle game and he said "with your bones." I asked him what to do and he said I needed to put my arm bones around him and he would curl up his leg bones and we would cuddle. It was very sweet.
On a less sweet note the boys are now fighting over my lap as soon as one sits with me the other comes over screams and pushes him off. All day long. Beckett seems to be recovering from our busy busy start to the summer. Finally. I was getting a little worried that the screaming for Mom 24 hours a day had returned...but yesterday was back to a normal amount of screaming.

Can I just say that I am totally in love and obsessed with How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? On BBC. It is a show looking for the star of the new Sound of Music opening in 6 weeks in London- produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber. What isn't to love. Tons of musical numbers, a host wearing a metallic suit, ALW sitting on a throne- being very critical, and even a Maria from Romania-(what makes her think the public wants a Maria with a thick eastern European accent?).
So in conclusion Couldn't care less who the next American Idol is- never have- but I am passionate about the next big musical theater star. By the way totally brilliant of the producers to cast this way as I here the show is already selling out. And just in easy you are wondering I am pulling for the Irish Maria or the Fashion Student Maria, both of whom have names I will never remember, like Aoife (pronounced efva). The other is named Siohban
So if you have BBC you should totally spend next Sunday catching up on the past episodes and join me in my obsession with Andrew Lloyd Webber. Also- the opening is a recreation of Maria singing on the hillside, only there is twenty of them singing and fighting- hysterical.
Sadly finding this clips I found out that my two favorites come in third and fourth. So now I am kind of a little sad.

A couple of cute things from Coen:
While Tisha was nursing Tanner, Coen walked up to her and quite matter of factly said "My mom feeds Beckett from her booboos too."
This morning he told me "Mom I am so lucky."
"Why are you lucky Coen?"
"Because I have so many Grandma's who love me."
Later he was talking about his family and he said " I have a grandma Clove and she is also my Tractor Grandma."
And then, "I have cousins and aunts and uncles and a sister."
"You have a sister?"
"Yes Sister Bumcrott." (his nursery leader)
I have a ton of cute pics but am trying to edit them in picnik so that my blog can be cute like Becky's. Uhm it is a stupid waste of time but I am still feeling compelled.

Some Great Things About Today
Working out with Marika (bonus actually able to run after a very long hiatus due to Beckett and maybe a little laziness).
Going to hippy dippy farmers market in Nevada City. It is actually the worst of the farmers markets in the area but the boys (Joseph Coen and Beckett) and I couldn't resist walking around with the hippies when we drove by. I got some great flowers and some squash for Alma. The boys got to pick out fruit and Coen walked around eating an apple and an apricot at the same time. Joseph, Beckett and I enjoyed some whole wheat sour dough pancakes with stewed peaches- yum yum. And did I mention the joy of walking around with hippies and elderly people and elderly hippies. Oh the joy that is Nevada county. Being able to go out in my sweats and be the best dressed person there.
Sprinkler play in the back yard.
Letting go of any guilt and letting boys watch TV until nap.
Boys doing yoga video after the sprinkler play (uhm maybe the little boys need a little rest).
Hyrum and Laura left this morning. Maybe someday I will post pictures but today is a lazy day. Oh so lazy. We miss them already. Coen woke up this morning and ran out to the living room when no one was there he came and asked "Where are my cousins?" After I told him they went home he said "I am so sad because I miss them already." So do I little guy.
Now off to make toast and eggs for lunch and then joy of joys nap time.
I think we have pretty good life.

Happy 3rd Birthday Coen
Today is my little boys third birthday (Happy Birthday to Aunt Susan and Aunt Kaylin too!).
So just a quick recap on the big day- Coen has been planning this day for months- even down to the costumes he thought his guests should wear. Overall I think the big day was successful for Coen. The only failure was none of his boy cousins could come so we were sadly lacking in Jedi warriors. Jessica did come as Darth Vader. And Aunt Laura and Uncle Wendells families provided a Storm Trooper costume including the mask and the blaster. A horrible genocide then took place in our living room. We did have the Star Wars cake and Ceon decorated his own cupcakes. (He is a little OCD and was very careful about placing the marshmallows). He also told me that we should clean the house before his party.
This morning he woke me up by running into my room singing "It's my birthday! It's my birthday! Where is my Star Wars cake?" So it was a great day.
In honor of the special day just a few things about Coen-
Things I miss-
~cuddling with him in bed in the morning.
~when he would hold my hand or pat my face and say "happy happy"
~how he just fit perfectly curled up on my chest as a newborn
~how he would say "I hold you." when he wanted to be picked up
~his little demon prayers- Where he would use his sweet voice to pray but every other sentence he was glaring at me and telling me to be quiet and then back to his sweet voice for God.
Things that are fun now-
~everything cool is his fathers. This includes the flag and the national anthem at Sea World.
~his imagination. How he puts down his pretend basketball to do an errand and then goes and picks it up in the exact same spot when he is done. How he plays with his cousins and Papa Ray all the time.
~his love for tractor grandpa
~how much he loves to read
~his little cuddles all day long
~wrestling and cuddling with his brother- especially when I find them all curled up together asleep in the crib
